Broccoli extract is a concentrated, standardised form of glucoraphanin, the precursor compound that converts into sulforaphane in the body. Unlike eating fresh broccoli, a standardised extract guarantees a consistent and meaningful dose of glucoraphanin with every serving. Cooking broccoli destroys much of its myrosinase enzyme activity, which is required for glucoraphanin-to-sulforaphane conversion, a limitation that does not apply to our supplement format.

Sulforaphane is a naturally occurring compound produced when glucoraphanin reacts with the enzyme myrosinase. We use magnesium taurate, a chelated form of magnesium bonded to the amino acid taurine. Magnesium taurate is associated with particularly good cardiovascular and neurological tolerability compared to cheaper forms such as magnesium oxide, which has poor bioavailability and is more likely to cause digestive discomfort.

Alpha lipoic acid (ALA) is a naturally occurring compound and mitochondrial antioxidant. It is uniquely able to function in both water-soluble and fat-soluble biological environments, giving it broader antioxidant reach than most other antioxidants. ALA also regenerates other antioxidants including vitamins C and E, making it a synergistic addition to the broccoli extract's Nrf2-activating effects.

Chromium contributes to normal macronutrient metabolism, a permitted EU health claim. At 180 micrograms per serving it is within the safe and effective range established in the scientific literature for supporting insulin receptor function and the normal metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins.
